this is my kidney

There are maybe six remarkable moments
that spell out my remarkable list.
1. my wedding ring is glowing neon red reflecting the
a. light of my eyes
b. the space of emptiness that I wish was full of a vibrant connection to all the birds and to the joyous freeing love of Christ on the cross which he pours out in sunshine in rain and snowshine, in coffee aroma, in afternoon siestas in dance in love that grows and grows in revelation and significance that is not afraid of anything that challenges it nor is it arrogant because this love knows
c. brakelights
2. An amazing choice to return to America
3. An amazing choice to return to South Africa
4. Poetry sits in my veins like cholesterol unused, slowing down all my thoughts emotions actions. This is my kidney.
6. Music
and finally five, which is my fifth
sense (of smell) that reminds me
of all the odors and that their meaning
has so much meaning that all is
symphony and rhyme, all is sentence after
sentence of beautiful dying language
dying under your countenance as our
hearts begin to beat
coursing our veins
I’ve moved!

Well, not yet. Yes you have you say, your blog is new here. No I haven’t, I say, because my wife and I are closing on a new house tomorrow!
The truth is I get bored with stuff, and little changes make me feel like I will become involved in something, so yes, I’m changing blogs. My good friend Scott is working on a lot of poetry lately, and he has been putting his on his blog, just to keep him editing…I haven’t worked on a poem in perhaps two years. That sucks.
By the way, my mom wouldn’t let us say “suck” when we were kids, so we chose the next word we heard on TV. This story Mervyn’s. Talk to you soon.
